Having a 3/8"-16 mounting hole will allow you to mount your Osmo on a tripod or other support with a matching 3/8"-16 mounting screw. A 1/4"-20 bushing is also included that inserts into the 3/8"-16 hole and coverts it to 1/4"-20 in case you want both holes to be 1/4"-20.
