Once set up, the app wirelessly springs the Swing into motion via Bluetooth, passing on your commands to split and expand with a generous 15" of travel distance; moving your phone as it films a video clip. In the app you can adjust the travel speed to achieve different effects. If you need more stability, the bottom 1/4"-20 connection can be used with an optional tripod.
