The Apollo Orb is the first octagonal softbox that doesn't require an adapter ring. Simply open like an umbrella, place the light inside and attach the included diffusion panel. Designed specifically with a deeper profile, light is evenly projected for maximum output.
This round octagonal shaped unit simulate the look of natural sunlight by providing a round catch light in subject's eyes. Get the light of a soft box with the ease of an umbrella.
This complete kit includes the Apollo Orb, two all-metal adjustable shoe mount brackets, the 28" Medium Apollo, and two lightweight 8' light stands. No additional parts and pieces to lug around as these units simply open up just like an umbrella and set up in seconds making them perfect for any on-location photographer.
Face the light forward through the white diffusion front for specular highlights. Specular highlights will provide a "hot spot" on your subject with a greater fall off from highlights to shadows. Point your flash towards the back of the Apollo Orb for a bounce light source. This will offer an even light spread of less than 1/2-stop light loss from center to edge. Diffusion fabrics are pure in color so the color temperature going into the fabric is the same color temperature coming back out.The convenience of an umbrella meets the control of a softbox. Built on an umbrella frame, the Apollo light modifiers set up in seconds. No additional parts and pieces to lug around as these units simply open up just like an umbrella and set up in seconds making them perfect for any on-location photographer. While most softboxes require expensive and heavy adapter rings to properly set up, these units simply fit into the umbrella receptacle found on virtually all style studio lights.
These Apollo light modifier is perfect paired with speedlites. The included 5015 Shoe Mount brackets are required to mount the speedlite and Apollo onto the included light stands with full tilting capability. No need for an adapter ring as virtually all style studio lights come standard with an umbrella receptacle to attach the Apollo light modifier. The included shoe mount bracket is adjustable providing a perfect fit with your speedlite. All-metal construction provides the ultimate in quality and mount the included adjustable shoe mount bracket directly to any standard 5/8" light stand. Lock into place by tightening the turn knob. No plastic to easily break on our shoe mount bracket as the tilt locking washer is constructed from solid metal. Compare this to many plastic washers more commonly found on market.
